Info-Point with a wonderful view of the Ries Crater

The bilingual Geopark Ries Info-Point inspires with its unique view over the Ries basin and the village of Kirchheim am Ries. It is located at the appropriately-named “Riesblick” (“Ries view”) hikers’ parking lot, directly on the Blasienberg hill near Kirchheim am Ries. A geological map illustrates the geological features of both the UNESCO Global Geopark Ries and the UNESCO Global Geopark Swabian Alb.

Explaining the Ries formation and the surrounding features in both German and English, the info-panels are visible and accessible to all around the clock. Tables and benches allow a relaxing pause in a natural setting.

Nearby, at the bench on the Blasienberg, a panorama panel identifies the Ries localities visible from afar.
